Pool Kids are a band from Tallahassee, Florida, and was one of two opening acts for Tigers Jaw at Georges Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, Arkansas. (see our Tigers Jaw gallery here).
They released their third album, Easier Said Than Done, in August of last year and have been touring in support of it ever since.. They also just released an Audiotree live EP you can listen to HERE.
One of the biggest surprises of the night was just how fantastic Pool Kids was live. Led by vocalist and guitarist Christine Goodwyne, alongside guitarist Andy Anaya, bassist Nicolette Alvarez, and drummer Caden Clinton, Pool Kids delivered an energetic and emotionally charged performance that immediately grabbed the crowd’s attention and caught me off guard from the moment they came on stage.

Guitarist Andy Anaya was an absolute mad man on the stage all night. Headbanging for most of the set.
Pool Kids blend intricate guitar work, dynamic rhythms with heartfelt vocals, the band showcased the musicianship and authenticity that have earned them a devoted following. Their set moved seamlessly between explosive, high-energy tracks to more introspective moments, creating a compelling emotional arc throughout the evening.
Bassist Nicolette Alvarez went from gracefully swaying to the music to jumping up and down with spins throughout the performance.

Vocalist and guitarist Christine Goodwyne moved around the stage like a hummingbird, never staying still for more than a moment. Leading the crowd in waves and claps.
She even tried to get everyone at Georges Majestic Lounge to call the Hogs, which was met with some reluctance and even a few boos (“Why are you booing?”). Eventually the crowd called the hogs the second time Christine asked for it.
Also, she noted this wasn’t the first time Pool Kids had been in Northwest Arkansas. Stating they had played a long time gone beloved place called Backspace, “Anyone see us there? I hope at least one of you is here tonight. Just one”.

Also, crowd surfing and damn near making it to the sound booth is incredible. And she made it all the way back to that stage.
With tight execution, a crowd-engaging stage presence, and a genuine ability to connect with the audience, POOL KIDS proved why they continue to stand out as one of indie rock’s most exciting live acts.
If you’re looking for a live band that delivers high energy, strong musicianship, and an upbeat attitude, Pool Kids should be on your radar.
